I’ve been writing Friday Favourites for almost 5 years now and finally decided to move it to Substack (rather than via email).
If you’re new here, welcome to Friday Favourites, a weekly note serving up inspiring books, phenomenal podcast episodes, show recommendations, motivational messages and more.
It’ll include things I’ve read, watched, listened to or overheard during the week, things that are working for me that I believe you’d benefit from. A little way of paying it forward.
These are my three favourites this week:
Arthur C Brooks on The Big Deal by Codie Sanchez - In this episode, they speak about the secrets to Happiness, the interplay between love and leadership, hope vs. optimism, the impact of social media on women’s happiness, meeting the Dalai Lama and how we can confront and understand our deepest fears. Arthur is quite a formidable thinker and I highly recommend checking this out.
The Six Triple Eight on Netflix - I’m a little ashamed that I had no idea about this piece of history. The Six Triple Eight, featuring Kerry Washington, is an inspiring and true story about the 855 black women who were sent out to Europe during WWII to sort through 17 million pieces of back logged mail. The movie isn’t just about the sacrifice they made or how hard they worked but about their own personal struggles in the world. It’s a beautiful tribute to the unsung heroes and a must watch, IMHO.
Peter Crone on The Jasmine Star Show - If you’ve been following me over on Instagram, you’ll know how much I love Peter Crone, the mind architect. In this episode, they talk about freedom, success and abundance. They dive deep in to why entrepreneurs stay stuck in patterns that limit their business, how to rewire your subconscious beliefs, the power of embracing ‘I don’t know’ and practical strategies to shift your mindset. I really enjoyed it and I think you will too.

Until next week,
